My Easter Look

Hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend!

Spring has also sprung on the blog! What do you think if the new design? Ahh so happy for this beautiful weather and see all the flowers starting to bloom. It is definitely my favorite season!
My entire Easter outfit was thrifted and only cost $26.85! Yes…under $30 for an entire outfit including shoes!

Let’s break it down:

$6.00 – Apt9 nude heels
$4.45 – Banana Republic long sleeve shirt
$8.95 – Simply Vera faux fur vest
$7.45 – Lee floral pants

I also had to feature Hartley’s adorable Easter outfit because she simply stole the show at church with this cute dress/jacket combo. I mean how freakin’ darling is she? It was only $6 and with all the comments she got, you would have thought it cost me hundreds! One of my best thrift purchases to date!

This was my first time hosting Easter and I just went super simple on the table by using my mother’s and father’s wedding china, my yard sale antique placemats/napkins, and finished it off with these stunning vintage champagne glasses filled with a delicious bubbly rose.

DIY Herb Gifts

This DIY herb gifts are just prefect!! Pick out your favorite herbs, a container of choice, and some adorable accessories and you have a fantastic gift for any occasion.

How adorable is this herb beer mug hostess gift for St. Patrick’s Day?!?! Every year we get invited to a St. Patrick’s Day party and they always have the most fabulous food…and the friends aren’t that bad either 🙂 So I thought why not contribute to their yummy Irish/Italian kitchen with some fresh basil as a hostess gift. The beer mug was a thrift store find and I thought why not incorporate the Irish drinking tradition to make this super fun for the holiday. Basil can be a little temperamental in a non-draining container, however don’t overwater (about 1-2 times a week) and it should last to get a few wonderful recipes out of. Of course my favorite use of basil is the simple and delicious caprese salad. Yummy!

And this “Mint to Be” hostess gift is just precious. What a fabulous idea for new homeowners, engagement, wedding gift, or thank you gift. Of course the mason jar, tag and ribbon make this super pretty. Mint is a little more resilient than basil so the drainage isn’t as big of a deal and should last longer and it smells so nice! I want a mojito right now!!

Of course these can be modified to fit any occasion by simply changing the coloring, ribbon and wording used. Have fun creating these DIY herb gifts!

Long Sleeve Printed Dress

Have you ever had a print that just jumps out at you? Well this is sort of what this dress did for me. A couple weeks ago I got to have a WHOLE hour of dedicated thrift shopping without a husband or baby trying to rush me. I got to explore some new labels, some new sections I never hit, and tried to really re-imagine some items. To say the least, it was one of the better ME nights I’ve had for awhile. I walked away with 2 dresses, 1 blouse, 3 pairs of pants, a silk scarf, 2 designer men’s ties, and 3 pairs of pants for $60!! Ummm YEAH!

This dress by ASTR really grabbed me (especially since it had this amazing back detail…I’m a sucker for back details) and when I was able to research more, I found out that is a brand sold at Nordstrom’s with a retail price around $65.00 and I found for $6.50.
I decided to wear this to a bridal shower last weekend when the weather was finally gorgeous in Virginia.  I paired it with some fabulous clearance Jessica Simpson booties
(similar)
I found at DSW for only $30.00 for a more casual look. So I know it’s a little bit of a funky look for a bridal shower, but for the bride-to-be I think it fit perfectly for her fun personality. I never wear anything this short, and Kimberly actually had to reassure me a few times (even with a backup outfit in the car) that it wasn’t really as short as I thought and to ROCK it. Ekkk…so I did and I was really happy that I pushed myself out of my fashion comfort zone. I did however wear this to work the next day with a cute pair of black leggings
and it was just as spectacular 🙂
Happy Thrift Thursday!
